Retrouvés par hasard dans un fond de tiroir, ces 3 titres ont été réalisés en 2008 d'après des "a capella" que Kristin Hersh avait publiés sur le site ccmixter.org, site que je fréquentais régulièrement à l'époque.

J'avais donc juste envie de vous faire partager ce travail, car j'en connais certains ici qui vont l'apprécier, et aussi parce que le prochain album risque de se faire attendre encore un peu...

2008, c'était encore l'époque de Cubase SX et de Windows XP !.. mais je trouve que le son n'est pas trop mal.

J'avais trouvé fascinant de partir des a capella sans connaitre ce qu'elle avait prévu comme accompagnement (l'album est sorti un an plus tard je crois) et d'imaginer un "scénario" musical en me laissant guider par la mélodie, les paroles et les intonations de sa voix. Très formateur tout ça ^^

Le premier titre "Mississippi Kite" est dédié à mon ami Alain "Bassman" qui se reconnaitra, en hommage à son vieil Ampeg pour ce qui est du son de la basse, et aussi parce que c'est cet instrument qui "drive" vraiment le morceau. Enjoy !

Found by chance in the back of a drawer, these 3 tracks were produced in 2008 based on "a cappella" songs that Kristin Hersh had published on the site ccmixter.org, a site that I visited regularly at the time.

So I just wanted to share this work with you, because I know some here who will appreciate it, and also because the next album may take a little longer...

2008 was still the time of Cubase SX and Windows XP!... but I think the sound isn't too bad.

I found it fascinating to start with a cappella without knowing what accompaniment she had planned (the album was released a year later I think) and to imagine a musical "scenario" by letting myself be guided by the melody, the words and the intonations of his voice. Very educational all of that ^^

The first title "Mississippi Kite" is dedicated to my friend Alain "Bassman" who will recognize himself, in homage to his old Ampeg in terms of the sound of the bass, and also because it is this instrument that really "drives" the piece. Enjoy!
